Voices Visual Frame · Playbook 25 + Tool
Voices Visual Frame™ is a visual tool featuring 35 keywords designed to help us explore how we communicate, express ourselves, and connect with others. Each word introduces a meaningful distinction that can help us recognize aspects of our experiences, clarify what we want to communicate, understand different perspectives, and open up more meaningful conversations.
Overview
Communication is part of everything we do. Every day, we express ideas, share experiences, communicate our needs, interpret what others say, and navigate different expectations. Yet finding the right words, making ourselves understood, and understanding others isn’t always easy. What we say, what we leave unsaid, and how we listen can shape our relationships in ways we don’t always recognize.
This playbook features 25 practical exercises organized into five categories: finding words for our experiences, distinguishing our communication needs, understanding and recognizing one another, exploring differences, tensions, and boundaries, and opening conversations to build mutual understanding.
The exercises can be completed individually, with another person, or in groups, depending on the activity. There’s no required sequence, and you don’t need to complete every exercise. Simply choose the ones that are most relevant to your interests, relationships, or current circumstances.
No prior knowledge or experience is required. All you need is your Voices Visual Frame, a place to capture your reflections, and a willingness to explore.
The goal isn’t to find the right answers, define people through labels, or establish a single correct way to communicate. Instead, these words are meant to help us make distinctions, better understand ourselves and others, explore different interpretations, and create space for meaningful conversations that respect the diversity of human experiences and perspectives.
An invitation to explore what we express, what we struggle to communicate, how we understand one another, and what becomes possible when we find new words for our experiences.
For individuals, professionals, and teams who want to better understand how they communicate, express their needs, navigate differences, and strengthen mutual understanding through 35 keywords and 25 practical exercises.
